Aiming to mobilize the industry to embrace advanced, affordable resources, the RIndustry initiative is a platform to reach out to various industrial communities for dissemination of related technologies and emphasize their impact on the improvement of economics and competition. Awareness, training, and sharing of best practices are offered in face-to-face meetings and workshops.
With a focus on advanced resource utilization practices in a number of pilot projects in agro-food industries and resource-intensive industries, RIndustry’s efforts entail implementation of resource solutions in three stages which guarantee adequate solutions-for-need and sustainability; (a) Preimplantation stage, including consultation and assessment of energy and water needs and energy efficiency, (b) Onsite implementation stage, including installation and commissioning of energy and water related technologies, and (c) Post implementation stage, including onsite training, and monitoring of installed resources and their impact on the pilot project’s economics and competitiveness.
To ensure quality and sustainability of advanced, affordable resources for Egypt’s industry, the initiative will establish RIndustry Community, an R&D center under the umbrella of the applicant to reside within the ecosystem established in the Science & Innovation Park at the British University in Egypt (BUE). This is to involve the R&D communities and industrial stakeholders to capitalize on and integrate efforts of this action and previous efforts and outputs led by the applicant and co-applicants in renewable energy and water desalination to stimulate research and innovation driven developments and investments in this sector and maximize Return On Investment (ROI) and increase competitiveness of Egypt’s MSMEs in domestic and global markets.
